Chhindwara (MP): Union Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath on Monday exuded confidence that Congress would win more than 140 seats in the state Assembly elections held on Monday.
"Congress would get more than 140 seats in the polls," Nath told reporters after casting his vote at Shikarpur polling station in Chhindwara district.
Election for 230-member House was held today.
In 2008 polls, Congress had won 71 seats and BJP 141.
Nath said Congress would end ruling BJP government's ten-year-long tenure of "corruption" after coming to power and work for the welfare of all sections of society including women and youths.
