New Delhi: Leading bicycle manufacturer Hero Cycles on Tuesday roped in Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor as its brand ambassador.
The company also launched a limited edition sports cycle -- AK edition, named after the upcoming actor.
"We are ecstatic that youth icon Arjun Kapoor, is now associated with us and will represent our brand and its ethics in the public and media," Hero Cycles Co-Chairman and MD Pankaj Munjal told reporters here.
The company will be coming out with its first TV commercial with Kapoor which will be one of it's major initiatives in recent times, he added.
Only 3,000 units of AK Edition sports cycles would be available for sale across the country, Munjal said.
Hero Cycles also announced its entry into the e-commerce space by tying up with Sports356.In to sell its entire range of cycles online.
"We have been closely watching the evolution of our consumer's behavioural pattern. We decided to make our entire range of cycles available online to make easier and more convenient for our buyers to pick, compare and chose from the offerings," Munjal said.
Through the tie-up with Sports365.In, Hero Cycles will now be available on leading e-commerce platforms including Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon.
Hero Cycles is the world's largest cycle manufacturer with a product capacity of 7.5 million units per annum.
