New Delhi: Volvo Auto India has appointed Tom von Bonsdorff as the Managing Director of the company with immediate effect.
Bonsdorff, who has been with Volvo Cars for 17 years in various operational and managerial positions, will replace Tomas Ernberg who is moving back to Sweden in a new role, Volvo Auto India said in a statement.
During his career at Volvo Cars, Bonsdorff has worked in US, Sweden, Finland and in his current position - as a Market Area Director for Asia.
Commenting on the appointment, Volvo Cars Group Vice President Asia-Pacific, Jari Kohonen said: "Tom brings wide industry, market and cultural experience into his new position with proven track record from different functions and markets within Volvo Cars commercial operations which makes him highly suited to lead Volvo Cars in India on its growth trajectory."
Volvo Auto India sells five luxury models -- Volvo S80, Volvo S60, Volvo XC60, Volvo V40 Cross Country and Volvo XC90.
