India to increase infrastructure investment by $11.3 bn: FM

India will hike investment in infrastructure by USD 11.3 billion including on crumbling roads and railways in a bid to boost growth, the finance minister said Saturday as he unveiled his government`s first full budget.

The government will spend 700 billion rupees (USD 11.3 billion) in the coming fiscal year given the "pressing need" to upgrade infrastructure including to attract foreign investment, Arun Jaitley told the national parliament.
