IIT Kanpur (IITK), a world famous institution of higher learning and research in the fields of Science and Technology, is also the leading engineering college in India, as per a latest survey.
IITK was found out to be the best of Top 20 colleges in 10 cities of the country. The survey was conducted by Zee News, which commissioned the world’s third ranked research agency IPSOS to carry out the extensive study. According to the findings, IIT Kanpur is the best college to study engineering, while IIT Mumbai and IIT Delhi are ranked second and third respectively.
IIT Kharagpur, which was once considered the best engineering college, ranked fourth in the survey. IIT Madras, IIT Roorkee, IIT Gauhati, NIIT Warangal, SRM Engineering College Chennai and MN-NIT Allahabad are also in the Top 10 bracket.
With its state of the art technical amenities and cutting edge research facilities, SRM Engineering College, Chennai emerge the best privately run engineering colleges. The SRM Engineering College, which was first established under Anna University, has been operating as an independent and full-fledged university since 2006 now.
The world-class survey was backed by fool-proof groundwork done on the basis of opinions of leading academicians, faculty members and alumni, existing as well as prospective students of the colleges.
