New Delhi: Announcing the Union Budget for 2011-12 fiscal, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Monday, proposed to put 1%
excise duty on 130 items which were earlier exempted from it. He also proposed to hike base excise duty to 5%. The service duty
and excise duty will continue to stay at 15%.
The list of the items that will become cheaper and dearer are as under:
