Bangalore: Congress candidate DG Shanthana Gowda has alleged that he was offered Rs 10 crore to quit the election race in Karnataka.
Gowda, who was addressing a convention of the party workers at Gollarahalli, claimed that the offer was made by KJP candidate and former minister MP Renukacharya through agents.
“I rejected the offer and told them that voters will answer this offer,” Gowda told party workers.
Calling on the voters to vote for change and defeat candidates like Renukacharya, the Congress candidate added: “When he (Renukacharya) can offer me money to stay away from elections, he can offer gifts and other things to voters in election to demand votes.”
“We have lost all our lands after the Land Ceiling Act came into existence. We are left with only 15 acres of land. If the voters have any doubts, they can come, check the land records and know the truth,” he added.
