Bangalore: The Congress got into the poll mode in Karnataka with its leaders holding a rally in the state capital and slamming the Bhartiya Janata Party for failing to perform.

At the same time the Congress promised the electorate that they would give a clean administration if voted to power in the upcoming Assembly elections.

The rally was organised at the Malleswaram grounds. Hundreds of party workers were part of the rally along with Congress MLAs and leaders from all over the state. The rally was held on Saturday.

Hitting out at the BJP, Congress leader Siddaramaiah said that the party had failed to keep its promise after getting power. He accused the BJP leaders of looting the state.

According to Siddaramaiah, the Congress, if it came to power, would set up a special court to implement Lokayukta report’s recommendations. He alleged that the Lokayukta report on illegal mining had been overlooked.

On his part Union Minister Veerappa Moily said that the Congress party workers should not be bothered about the chief ministerial candidate and just focus on winning the polls. He said that the decision would be taken by the Congress president Sonia Gandhi at the right time.

On the other hand, another Union Minister Mallikarjuna Kharge said that the Congress would come back to power on its own and there was no need for it to tie with any other party in the state.
