Bokaro: A court here on Monday rejected the anticipatory bail petition of BJP leader Giriraj Singh who is facing non-bailable arrest warrant in connection with his hate speech during election campaigning.

Additional District and Sessions Judge (First Class) Bipin Bihari rejected the petition of the Nawada Lok Sabha candidate of the saffron party.

Earlier on April 23, Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate Amit Sekhar had issued the warrant against the former Bihar minister.

Last week, the Patna Civil Court had granted anticipatory bail to the BJP leader over his remark that critics of BJP's prime ministerial hopeful Narendra Modi will be sent to Pakistan.

Two separate FIRs were lodged against him in Jharkhand – one in Bokaro and another in Deogarh - for making an inflammatory speech during the campaigning for the General Election.

Giriraj Singh is BJP's Lok Sabha candidate from Nawada constituency.
