Kochi: Navy Day was celebrated at the Southern Naval Command, here with a solemn memorial service for the departed shipmates.
Vice Admiral Satish Soni, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief, Southern Naval Command and a galaxy of eminent personalities from civil society paid floral tributes at the War memorial at the Naval Base.
Prominent among them were Kochi Mayor, Tony Chammany.
A band of students from Navy Children School rendered patriotic songs.
