After 9 overs: Sri Lanka 64/0
Tharanga and Dilshan batted well and denied India any wicket as they went to the mid-innings break at 64/0. Both the batsmen looked really impressive as they plundered runs at will. Indian bowlers looked pedestrian in these 9 overs. Sri Lanka were all set to clinch this 2nd ODI.
Tharanga: 24*
Dilshan: 28*
After 5 overs: Sri Lanka 24/0
Chasing 139 to win the 2nd ODI, Sri Lankan openers gave their team a very good start. Sri Lanka were 24 after 5 overs with both the openers-Upul Tharanga and Tilakratne Dilshan-looking in great touch.
Tharanga: 12*
Dilshan: 6*
After 33.3 overs: India 138 all out
Gautam Gambhir failed to become the first Indian batsman to carry his bat as he became the last batsman to get out for India. India were finally bowled out for a meagre 138. Gambhir became the highest scorer for India with 65 while Thisara Perera and Angelo Mathews took 3 wickets each to give Sri Lanka a good chance to level the series 1-1.

After 30 overs: India 123/8
Gambhir scored a fine half-century to help India gain some kind of respectability in the match. Gambhir needed 71 balls to reach the milestone. Before he reached fifty, India had lost their 8th wicket in Zaheer Khan. India were 123/8 after 30 overs.
Gambhir: 56*
Ojha: 2*
After 25 overs: India 112/7
Ashwin’s horrible sense of running between the wickets cost him his wicket as India lost their 7th wicket in the 24th over of the match. Ashwin played well for his 21. Gambhir, however, was closing in on a fighting fifty. India were 112/7 after 25 overs.
Gambhir: 48*

Skipper MS Dhoni, along with Gambhir, tried to take Indian innings back on track for a while. But Dhoni (11) ultimately gave a simple catch to wicketkeeper Sangakkara off Mathews. India were deep trouble, losing 5 wickets for just 60 runs. Gambhir, however, stood tall amidst the ruins.
Gambhir: 25*

Sri Lanka included left-arm paceman Isuru Udana in place of injured Kulasekra.
India, on the other hand, went with the same team that played in the first match.
Team India will be confident after registering a win in the first ODI of the five-match series on Saturday while on the other hand the hosts will be eager to level the series.
The Hambantota pitch is similar to the previous match that India won. It is hard, dry and flat. There is a bit more grass on this pitch compared to what we witness in the first ODI. The conditions are good for batting despite the moisture on the track.

The pitches on which india play are dead pitches.Even a child can play on these pitches. If indians have enough guts then they should prove on fast pitches like south african or Australian. You can make records only on dead pitches.
