Dubai: David Hussey, who was one of the top scorers for the Australia team in the tri-series involving India and Sri Lanka and followed it up with another half-century against the West Indies before coming to play the IPL, has said that his ultimate dream is to play Test cricket for his country.
"Yes, I am glad that I could do well against teams like India and Sri Lanka," Hussey told Gulf News.
Hussey is yet to play a single Test match for Australia despite being a prolific scorer in the shorter format of the game.
"Test cricket is the ultimate dream for any cricketer and hopefully my chance is around the corner. I will do anything to get more runs and press my claims because of the tough competition to get into the team," he said.
Hussey is following Australia`s Test series in the Caribbean from India and is not surprised it has turned out to be a close one.
"The one-day series was quite a competitive one and the West Indies even had their nose ahead in the first Test before we turned things around," he said.
