 Kolkata: Pune Warriors batsman Steven Smith on Saturday received an official warning and reprimand for breaching the Indian Premier League (IPL) Code of Conduct during his team`s match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens here.
Smith admitted the Level 1 offence (Article 2.1.3) of showing dissent at an umpire`s decision during the ninth over of the Pune Warriors` innings.
For Level 1 breaches of the IPL Code of Conduct, the match referee`s decision is final and binding.
Pune Warriors lost to KKR by seven runs to slump to their fifth straight defeat in the tournament.
