Mumbai: Rajasthan Royals co-owner Raj Kundra reacted sharply to reports about his alleged involvement in Indian Premier League (IPL) betting after the Justice Mukul Mudgal Committee report on Monday stated that betting and spot-fixing against him need to be further investigated.

“Why target the lowest hanging fruit?” a visibly miffed Raj Kundra told a leading news channel after the report was out.

He further vehemently denied his or his wife Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty`s involvement in betting and claimed that he was fully co-operating in the investigation.

He went on to an extent and said that he would readily give up his stake in the IPL franchise if found guilty. “All rubbish! Even if there is an iota of evidence against us, we are ready to give up the shares,” said Kundra.

The three-member panel headed by Justice Mukul Mudgal on Monday submitted its report to the Supreme Court on the IPL betting and spot-fixing case indicting Chennai Super Kings co-owner Gurunath Meiyappan.

The committee, which was asked to give a report, was appointed by a bench of justices A K Patnaik and J S Kehar to probe the allegation of betting and spot-fixing against Meiyappan and owners of Rajasthan Royals.
