Melbourne: Former Australian leg-spinner Stuart MacGill has given his name for the lucrative Indian Premier League`s players` auction next year.
MacGill came out of retirement this month to play for the Sydney Sixers in Australia`s domestic Twenty20 league – Big Bash.
The 40-year-old believes that with a successful comeback with the Sydney Sixers, he can deliver in the IPL if someone is willing to pick him up.
"I really don`t want to get too far ahead of myself here, but I`m playing in the BBL because my kids thought I was getting old," MacGill was quoted as saying by the `Sydney Morning Herald`.
"I`m proving to them that I can still cut it with the young blokes. I just wanted to see if I could keep together physically and once I ticked that box I thought `hey, maybe it`s worth my while`.
"Having played a couple of Twenty20 games now, I know I can do it. I don`t get too sore. I know I can run around enough. It`s worth a go," said MacGill, who took 208 wickets from 44 Test matches.
MacGill retired in 2008 after suffering carpal tunnel syndrome and last played a T20 match for English county side Nottinghamshire in 2003.
After an eight-year break from Twenty20 cricket, MacGill joined teammate Shane Warne and other Australian players coming out of retirement to play in the Big Bash tournament.
