Nari Contractor, former India skipper, suffers fallMumbai: Former India skipper Nari Contractor had a fall during his morning walk near his house in South Mumbai today, and has been admitted to a local hospital.

"He was taking his morning walk in his colony, Rustom Baug, and had a fall. He was admitted to the hospital and is much better now," said his one-time teammate, Bapu Nadkarni.

He hurt his head in the fall.
The 77-year-old Gujarat-born cricketer, a left-handed opener in his playing days, has been admitted to the Parsee General Hospital.

Contractor`s blossoming international career was cut short due to a serious skull injury sustained against the West Indies on India`s second tour of the Caribbean in 1962.Contractor -- who became India`s youngest captain aged 26 when he was appointed in 1960-61 -- played in 31 Tests, scoring 1,611 runs with one hundred and averaged just over 31 per innings.
