Karachi: Shahryar M. Khan has been unanimously elected as the new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) by members of the board on Saturday.
According to PCB sources, no one had submitted their nomination papers to contest for the position except Khan who had also served as the board`s chairman in the past.
Friday had been the last day for submission of nominations for the post, which was vacant since Najam Sethi`s departure, The Dawn reported.
The announcement of Khan`s appointment as Chairman PCB is expected after overhauling of his papers. He would thenceforth be unanimously elected as the chairman of Pakistan `s cricket governing board.
A 10-member PCB Governing Board had been initially expected to elect the board`s new chairman on Monday, Aug 18 but as no nomination papers were received by anyone against Khan he was most likely to be declared as elected unopposed, the report added.
