Colombo: The Pakistani cricketers taking part in the ICC World T20 tourney in Sri Lanka are being kept under constant surveillance by their cricket board in order to avoid any fixing scandal.

The strict measures taken by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have come in the wake of the 2011 spot-fixing scandal where three of its leading international cricketers -- Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif -- were found guilty and sentenced to jail.

The board is taking all measures to avoid repetition of such an incident during the ongoing T20 championship.

"No player is allowed to meet any suspicious or unknown person on the tour," PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf was quoted as saying by BBC.

"We have constituted a security wing in Pakistan to monitor daily reports sent by officers accompanying the team," he said.

The entire Pakistan squad, including coach Dav Whatmore, is maintaining a distance from the supporters during the net practice sessions and even at their hotel.

The players have also been strictly instructed to not speak to anyone without the consent of their media manager.
