New Delhi: India discard Virender Sehwag has sought to excuse himself for the second match in succession and will not play in Delhi`s next Vijay Hazare (North Zone leg) encounter against Haryana at the Feroze Shah Kotla on Tuesday.
"Sehwag won`t play tomorrow as he has not recovered from viral fever and cold. He is still recovering from the bout of flu and is very weak. So we will be going into tomorrow`s match without Virender Sehwag," DDCA`s chairman of selectors Chetan Chauhan told PTI.
Sehwag had apparently pulled out at the last moment during Delhi`s match against Himachal Pradesh texting coach Sanjeev Sharma about his unavailability due to "sickness".
Sehwag was supposed to open in yesterday`s game and Jagrit Anand who replaced him used the opportunity well cracking 61 in Delhi`s five wicket win.
Sehwag, who has preferred batting in the middle-order has flopped in the entire season and serious questions are being raised as to how long he will be continued as some of the in-form youngsters are being denied an opportumity to play for the state.
