Barcelona have submitted a 6,000,000 euro bid for Sao Paulo defender Douglas, media reports said.
The 24-year-old is seen as a candidate to fill the right-back spot of compatriot Daniel Alves, who the Blaugrana want to sell, Xinhua cited from the Terra news portal.
Rio de Janeiro: Douglas has made 131 first-team appearances for Sao Paulo since arriving from Goias in 2012.
According to the portal, Sao Paulo are eager to raise cash to meet their hefty wage bill.
The club`s squad includes former Brazil players Kaka, Alexandre Pato, Luis Fabiano, Paulo Henrique Ganso and Rogerio Ceni.
Barcelona currently have three Brazilians in their squad: Adriano, Neymar and Alves.
