Sydney: Sydney Football Club (FC) coach Frank Farina Friday said he had full confidence in captain Alessandro Del Piero, amidst rumours about the Italian star looking to leave the A-League.
There have been widespread speculations that Del Piero would leave the club by the end of the January transfer window and the 39-year-old Italian has recently been targeted by Thai Premier League side PTT Rayong, reports a leading agency.
Early this month, it was rumoured that Del Piero had accepted a lucrative offer from David Beckham`s former club, LA Galaxy.
Farina said Friday that the Thai club was most probably an older rumour and Del Piero is committed to Sydney FC.
"We`re in a situation where we`re still very much in the fight and close to everything so his focus is on Sydney FC at the moment," he told reporters in Sydney.
"I`m not worried at the moment and I hope there`s no need to (be)."
