New Delhi: Italy and former AC Milan controversial striker Mario Balotelli, provides Liverpool an added zeal in the attack, just what the Reds had been looking for after the departure of Luis Suarez. Balotelli is set to complete a £16m move to the Anfield club from the San Siro giants on Monday. The valuation of the deal has been a highlight of the summer transfer window, it`s a sheer bargain!

Liverpool have struck a golden deal with Milan for Balotelli and the price-tag suggests a big profit made for a lesser value for the Merseyside giants. Balotelli scores a lot of goals, he has made big impact in every club he has played for and being Italy`s No. 1 striker suggests his impact on the pitch.

Balotelli, who is expected to sign a deal worth close to £120,000-a-week, had a colourful two-and-a-half years with City before moving to AC Milan. He knows the English conditions and is familiar with the Premier League. The 24-year old controversial striker has found success here in the EPL with City and will hope to emulate the same with Liverpool.

Reds manager Brendan Rodgers needed a striker who could form a partnership with Daniel Sturridge and dictate the fancied attacking potency in style. With Mario Balotelli, Rodgers has the added advantage in doing both. Rodgers will look to bring out the best in Mario and if he finds success there, Liverpool will thrive. Balotelli is just that type of player who is a specialist and is regarded as one of the best talented strikers in the present generation.

Balotelli has played at big clubs, with the likes of Inter Milan, Manchester City and AC Milan, he has experience at the big stage in utmost quantity. Plus the UEFA Champions League competition will interest him, and Liverpool will fancy their chances with already having a desired attacking line-up.

After the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona this summer, the Reds were in desperate need of a forward who could get them goals and create a buzz amongst the fans. They bought Rickie Lambert from Southampton and were linked with Monaco`s Radamel Falcao. But a £16m Mario Balotelli, gives them that cushion now with a Suarez-less side.

Balotelli is one of the bad guys of football and has replaced another bad character, Luis Suarez. He has been famous over the years for his off-field antics and dressing room mischiefs. But Rodgers is wary of this as he will need to keep Mario in check of his careless behaviour. Balotelli has a tendency to act on impulse and without fear of consequences.

Earlier, reports had suggested the Reds were keen to implement a code of conduct clause in Balotelli’s contract following disciplinary and off-field issues in the past, but Brendan Rodgers and Balotelli`s agent Mino Raiola, played down the claim. His agent had cited the fact that in Liverpool, the Italy forward will be protected under leader Steven Gerrard, and that will make him give his best.

Mario isn`t a leader, but he is a sensation that can help sides win matches from any situation on any given days. He scored 16 goals for AC Milan in the 2013-14 season. For both Mario and Liverpool this is an important season in order to make it big in European and domestic circuit.

Liverpool play Manchester City at the Etihad on Monday in the Premier League. Mario who will not be a part in the tie, will hope his present team wins the battle against his former recruits.
