Zee Media Bureau/Rajdeep SahaNew Delhi: Manchester United`s, new interim manager, Ryan Giggs will hope to carry on the faith his boyhood club has shown on him. After the sacking of former manager, David Moyes, Giggs finds himself in a position where he always wanted to be in, after his playing career.
Moyes had included Ryan Giggs in his coaching staff as a player-coach this season and the latter thanked the Scot for this on Saturday. Giggs is set to be the manager for the last four matches in this season`s Premier League, as United look to find a full-time manager in the summer.
No matter who ever comes in as the next Manchester United coach, the focus now lies solely on Giggs. United have had the most dismal season in the Premier League history and Giggs will look to end the term on a high. Giggs` first assignment is against relegation threatened, Norwich City, at Old Trafford, on Saturday. Giggs has already hit a master-stroke by recalling his 1992 classmates, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt to assist him. He already has Phil Neville who was assisting Moyes earlier here. Sir Alex Ferguson praised Giggs` move and has stated that the club should hand over the full time role to Giggs.
Giggs who has been at Old Trafford, since the age of 12, said that it is his proudest moment of his life and he looks to enjoy the role. The presence of his classmates will help him bring out the best of the players as he knows the entire dressing room situation internally. His leadership attributes will be the key in United`s finish this term. The move is a positive one from United and whatever happens from here on will have the touch of the speciality of the 1992 class.
Even if a new manager comes in during the summer, he can bank upon Giggs as his assistant and could look to lure Scholes, Butt and Neville in his coaching team. If United end the season well and Giggs is handed a permanent job, he along with his classmates can look to reach new heights after a blip suffered under Moyes. A recall of Ferguson`s assistants, Mike Phelan and Rene Mulensteen could also be on the cards. No matter what, everybody wants an United win on Saturday after Giggs leads the team out at Old Trafford.
