London: Croatia`s men beat Hungary 33-26 Sunday to win their first Olympic handball medal, a bronze.
The Croatians dominated from the start, finishing the first half with a 19-14 lead.
"It is a big thing for our small country and we are proud," Croatia`s Mirko Alilovic said.
Ivan Cupic was the top scorer with eight goals for Croatia, while Gergely Harsanyi scored seven for the Hungarians.
Croatia`s men also played in the bronze medal match in Beijing four years ago, losing 29-35 to Spain.
Sweden and France will fight for the gold later Sunday.
