Archer Deepika feeling no Olympics pressureLondon: Indian archers are touted as serious medal contenders in the Olympics but Deepika Kumari says there was no pressure on her from back home.

As the event gets underway at the historic Lord`s, the spiritual home of cricket, the spotlight has turned on world number one Deepika, who is expected to spearhead the Indian challenge.

"There is no pressure on me. There is a lot of interest back home. So many people back home will be watching, but they are wishing me all the best," Deepika said after a strenuous practice session at the Lord`s.

Deepika said she has recovered from flu and looking forward to her event.
"I am feeling much better now. Last week, it was very hard with the very cold weather, but now it is warm. I hope it continues like this. I am excited for the competition if the weather stays like this."

The archery competitions get underway with the ranking rounds in which every archer (64 men and 64 women) will shoot 72 arrows to determine their seedings for both the individual and team competitions.

The top scorer will be seeded No 1 and will meet No 64 in the first individual elimination rounds on Monday. The cumulative scores of the team members will decide the seedings for the team events on Saturday and Sunday.
