Indian Olympic contingent has 10 police sportspersonsNew Delhi: The Indian Olympic contingent has as many as 10 police sportspersons belonging to Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Manipur in its ranks.

The 10 police sportspersons includes four boxers, two wrestlers, two hockey players, one weightlifter and an athlete, who are affiliated to the All India Police Sports Control Board.

Besides Beijing gold-medallist boxer Vijender Singh (75kg), who is a DSP in Haryana Police, Jai Bhagwan (60kg), Vikas Krishan (69kg) and M C Mary Kom (51kg) also hold important ranks in the police department.

Wrestlers Yogeshwar Dutt and Geeta Kumari, weightlifter Soniya Chanu, discus thrower Seema Antil and hockey players Sandeep Singh and Sardara Singh are expected to do well in the mega-event, starting tomorrow in London.
