He hails from a humble background but his father made sure that his training wasn’t hampered due to financial constraints.
His dedication to the craft reflects from the fact that he underwent a knee surgery less than two months before claiming a gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
He qualified for the London Games in the last qualifying event in Helsinki in May this year leaving all doubts behind that were raised regarding his form and qualification for the Olympics.
