Soumyajit Ghosh, ranked 206th in the world and 5th in india, is an Indian paddler from Siliguri, West Bengal.
In April this year, he in Hong Kong, stunned everyone when he managed to qualify for mens’ category of table tennis for the London Olympics, by winning against his senior A. Amal Raj, whose current rank is No.1 in india.
The first Indian to win a medal(bronze) in 2010 world junior table tennis championship believes that it was the two year stint at the Peter Karlsson ‘s academy (five-time world champion) in Sweden that has helped him in honing his skills.
As far as his preparations for Olympics are concerned, he is currently training in China under the national coach Bhawani Mukherjee.

He believes Sweden’s former Olympian, world and European champion Jan-Ove Waldner to be the best player ever.
