London: As a major setback for all the authorities and sports fans, a fire broke out in the sailing venue at Weymouth just three hours ahead of the Olympic ceremony.
The area was immediately evacuated and no casualties have been reported so far.
A party was scheduled to be organized at the place soon after the opening ceremony. Three British sailors were supposed to hold a press conference.
The cause of the fire is yet to be known.
Notably the Olympic opening ceremony will kick off at 1:30 am (IST).
