 London: Italy`s Jessica Rossi blew away the competition and the world record in the women`s trap Saturday, missing just one of 100 shots on her way to Olympic gold.
Rossi, 20, shot the first-ever perfect score of 75 in qualifying and was on target for an overall score of 100 until she missed her 92nd shot, but she still easily surpassed Zuzana Stefecekova`s world record of 96.
Silver was decided by a three way shoot-off between defending Olympic champion Stefecekova of Slovakia, France`s Delphine Reau and Alessandra Perilli, chasing the first-ever Olympic medal for San Marino.
Perilli was the first to drop out, missing her second shot of the tie-break, before Stefecekova took silver when Reau missed her next shot, winning bronze.
Australia`s Suzanne Balogh had been joint second after the qualification round but crumbled in the final, missing 10 of her 25 shots and finishing sixth and last.
