Olympics 2012: Rhode blasts her way to skeet gold, equals world recordLondon: Kimberly Rhode of the United States won the gold medal in the women`s skeet competition at the Olympics Sunday, equalling the world record along the way.

Rhode, a double Olympic champion in the double trap and Beijing silver medallist in the skeet, entered the final with a four-point cushion after qualifying and calmly blasted her way to victory as her rivals fell away.

Rhode, who equalled the Olympics record earlier Sunday, matched Danka Bartekova`s world record of 99.

China`s Wei Ning added another silver to the one she took in Athens in 2004, while Slovakia`s Bartekova snatched bronze in a shoot-off against Russia`s Marina Belikova.

Belikova had held down third place for the duration of the final, but missed her final two shots to allow Bartekova to equalize in a drama-filled last round.
