Karnataka`s Rekha Devi wins gold in Taekwondo
Ranchi: Karnataka`s P Rekha Devi outclassed Shristi Singh of Uttar Pradesh to win the under-62kg gold in the women`s Taekwondo event of the 34th National Games here on Monday.



Though Singh fought spiritedly, she had to settle for a silver medal as Devi’s face kicks fetched her more points and Singh relied more on chest kicks.
Losing semi-finalist, Monika Raikwar (MP) and O Wangoleima Chanu (Kerala) won the bronze medals in the event.



In the men`s under-87kg Taekwondo final, SSCB`s Ibrahim Khan thrashed Manipal Singh (MP) to clinch the first gold medal for his team.Jharkhand`s Fani Bhusan Prasad and Punjab`s Dinesh Kumar Bhati won the bronze medals in the event.



Seven more gold medals for both men and women will be decided today.
