Macau eves beat Mozambique in volleyball at Lusofonia Games
Panaji: Putting behind their poor show against India, Macau`s women volleyball team on Monday beat Mozambique in straight sets at the Lusofonia Games here.

Macau, led by Lei Sin Kuan, defeated Mozambique 25-20 25-17?25-10 at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium at Taleigao near here.

India had defeated Macau in straight sets yesterday, cementing their claim for gold medal in the event.

The Macau eves looked confident right from the word go executing accurate attacks and defending their flank at the same time, demoralising the Mozambique team.

The Mozambique women looked weak right from the beginning. They tried to salvage the match during the 24th minute of the first set by continuously scoring points.

But Macau managed to get back into the game, owing to a superb performance by captain Lei Kuan, Chan Pui U and NG Nga Tat, all of whom hit mind-blowing smashes over the net.

Mozambique failed to make a comeback and meekly surrendered in the third set to lose the match.
