Mampi Das wins gold in 10m Air Rifle, Joydeep wins silver

New Delhi: Putting behind a recent controversy, Mampi Das of West Bengal on Friday won gold to become the national champion in the women`s 10m air rifle, at the ongoing 57th National Shooting Championship 2013 being held at Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range, in New Delhi.

Bengal`s Joydeep Karmakar representing Railways won silver in the 50m rifle prone men`s event.

Mampi was recently involved in a controversy with fellow shooters at the North Kolkta Rifle Club in Belgachia, as she lodged an FIR alleging physical assault.
