New Delhi: Continuing their fine run in the ongoing World Kabaddi League, Yoyo Tigers overcame Royal Kings USA 58-54 in a close contest here on Sunday.
Rapper Honey Singh-owned team began well with some excellent defence and at the end of the first quarter they were leading 16-13.
Royal Kings` raiders started playing better as the match progressed, turning the match on its head.
However the Tigers, dominated the fourth quarter with their star raider Manminder Singh knocking down the defence. He managed 18 successful raids and won his team their first match of the India-leg. Manminder was also adjudged the Man of the Match.
Sohan Singh, also of Yoyo Tigers, was declared the Stopper of the Match.
"We lost our first game in London but after that it has been all positive for us. This has been an exciting match for us as the opponents were very strong. The victory will surely boost our confidence in the next matches we play," Manminder said.
He also said that owner Honey Singh has promised a party to the team next Sunday. Yoyo Tigers are currently sixth with two wins from three matches. The team will next meet California Eagles on August 31.
