Murray defends coach Lendl following French Open ousterLondon: Britain number one tennis star Andy Murray has defended his coach Ivan Lendl following another failed attempt to land him his exclusive Grand Slam title at the French Open.

The Queen’s Club championship begins on the Monday before Wimbledon on June 25, and Murray knows it’s crunch time.

Tennis insiders have raised eyebrows at Lendl not always being by the world No 4’s side over the last few months. But the pair will be together now until the end of the Olympics.

“The more time we spend with each other the better he will understand my game and the better he will understand me as a person,” a daily quoted Murray, as saying.

“I will know the right questions to ask him before big matches and big tournaments. I am still learning a lot from him and hopefully that will be the case leading up to Wimbledon,” he added.

“He did everything he could to give himself the best chance of winning Wimbledon. He played well there but sometimes the final isn’t good enough for people. He was a great grass-court player,” he said.
