Paris: Even before the two top players arrived at the Phillipe Chatrier court to play the French Open final on Sunday, history was already made at the Rolland Garros.

It was for the first time in the tennis history that the same two players were playing against each other in fourth consecutive Grand Slam final.

Nadal earlier appeared against Djokovic in Wimbledon 2011, US Open 2011, and Australian Open 2012. In case if he loses French Open 2012, the Spanish Matador will create another record by becoming the only player to have lost four consecutive Grand Slam finals.

Rain interrupted the proceedings on Sunday when Nadal was leading 6-4, 6-3, 2-6. The match will now resume at 1 PM (Paris time) and 4:30 (IST)

Djokovic is on a 27-match winning streak at the Grand Slam Tournaments.

Nadal is seeking a record-breaking seventh French Open title and in case of a win he will surpass legendary Bjorn Borg who has won at the clay court six times.

Meanwhile Djokovic won the last three Grand Slams against Nadal and by clinching his maiden French Open title, the Super Serb will hold a career Grand Slam at the same time, a feat which no one has managed to achieve in the last 49 years.
