Murray not sure if deserving of `Sir Andy` title

London: New Wimbledon champion Andy Murray has dismissed the comments of UK`s Prime Minister David Cameron, saying that he does not feel that his win merits a knighthood.

David Cameron, speaking at a reception in the British No.1`s honour with part leaders at Downing Street, had said that although such honours are decided independently, he could not think of anyone more deserving of a knighthood than the Scot.

However, the tennis hero was more modest, saying that he is not sure that he deserved such an honour, although he added that it is a nice thing to be offered or to have.

The US Open champion also said that the honour was probably suggested for him as he had ended Britain`s long wait for a Wimbledon trophy.

Meanwhile, Murray was put on the spot on a TV interview over his romance with Kim Sears, when the interviewer asked him whether he was ready to propose to Sears now that he has won the US Open, the Olympics and the Wimbledon.

However, Murray essayed a clever comeback, quipping that even if he thought about it, he would not be telling her (the interviewer) first, although he added that he would take his girlfriend away for a luxury romantic break in the US.

Explaining what has made his nearly eight-year relationship with Sears so successful, Murray said that the fact that his girlfriend understands tennis, being around the game since her childhood, helps a lot, adding that she is aware of the struggles of being in a distanced relationship

After the strict diet and fitness routine that led up to Wimbledon, Murray is eager to tuck into his favourite naughty-but-nice food, saying that he has got a few days to himself, so he would be gorging on pizzas, chocolates and ice cream, after which he will prepare himself for the US Open.

According to Murray, he never had to defend a Grand Slam before, which is a new feeling for him, adding that he wants to go away on holiday and rest, as the last few weeks have been very tough and stressful on him.

Admitting that he has no idea how to spend the `ridiculous` 1. 6 million-pound prize, Murray further said that he had nothing planned apart from treating himself to a nice break with Sears, and dismissed speculations that he had dropped the golden winner`s cup.
