Ways to help save environment
The human race has already done unimaginable harm to the Mother Nature and it’s high time that we show her some respect for nurturing us and our previous generations since time immemorial.
It’s true that we are too busy in our lives and neglect our environment but if this continues then there will be a time when only disaster would be surrounding us.
Scientists have cautioned us already with the dramatic evidence of global warming threatening the planet in quite an unexpected way by triggering earthquakes, tsunamis, avalanches and volcanic eruptions. We have witnessed some recent trailers of that sort which we cannot afford to overlook, like- the Philippines’ Typhoon ‘Haiyan’ (Nov. 2013) which is considered the strongest tropical cyclone in the history of mankind. Over 11.3 million people were affected and 700,000 displaced. Uttarakhand’s Himalayan Tsunami (June 2013) which is considered India’s worst natural disaster (since 2004 Tsunami) led by a multiple cloud burst, causing flashfloods, massive landslides and heavy rainfall affecting millions. Though according to the government records, only around 5,700 people died in the tragedy but it is speculated that the real number is far beyond that.
There are many such incidents to name but that will not be something new or unheard of. Nature is giving us a warning and being the ‘intelligent species’ we must not ignore it.
Many of us might think that what a feeble ‘I’ can do about such a big phenomenon of climate change or Global warming. Then I guess it’s time to test the power of ‘one’. A united effort will definitely bring in the expected change.
Seven simple steps can make a huge difference:
