Sudhir Chaudhary is amongst the very few from India’s first generation of TV journalists to reach the position of an Editor of a trusted News Channel. Having started his journalistic career at Zee and then spending almost a decade at various senior editorial positions he moved to Sahara Samay as a core team member to launch the new channel. His KRAs included Human Resource and Content Development. After successfully proving himself at Sahara Samay, he joined INDIA TV as Executive Editor and hosted their prime time shows apart from executing other key editorial responsibilities.

From political battlefields of Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections, to the heights of Kargil or terrorist attack on Indian Parliament, he has covered every big story of Indian Television news from the spot. Apart from being aware of almost every action point in country, he has extensively travelled across the globe covering big moments of Indian diplomacy, including UN Summit or the much hyped Vajpayee–Musharraf Indo-Pak meeting at Islamabad or India’s hard selling with American and Russian Presidents George W Bush and Vladimir Putin.

As an anchor, Sudhir has fired sweet and sour questions at almost every “PERSONALITY” of the country from difficult & elusive Sonia Gandhi to the witty Atal Bihari Vajpayee to the hard talker Lal Krishna Advani, Narendra Modi, nationalist hero Anna Hazare or amusing Lalu Prasad Yadav or the great charmer Amitabh Bachchan & Aamir Khan or cricket stars like Saurav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid for different TV Shows across different channels.

Before the present stint at Zee News, he was the Editor & CEO of Live India & Mi Marathi. During his tenure, LIVE INDIA was one of the fastest growing 24 hours National Hindi News Channel which has now established a well identified brand among the top Hindi News Channels. Similarly, MI MARATHI has also created a niche for itself and is one of the most admired GEC in Maharashtra as most Marathis are emotionally associated with the channel.

During this time, he was instrumental in re-branding Sri Adhikari Brothers current affairs channel “Janmat” into a new avatar of 24 hours news channel Live India which made it a successful venture commercially as well as in terms of viewership.

Sudhir is presently Editor & Business Head of India’s oldest and leading news channel, Zee News. With almost 20 years of being a hardcore news journalist, he is now leading Zee News to greater heights.

Sudhir has undertaken a huge task to take Zee News to the next level of news broadcasting. As a leader, Sudhir has brought fresh energy and a new approach to Zee News. He has been the harbinger of integrating Social media with news broadcasting.

Sudhir truly believes in not following the beaten track, which he believes is one of the biggest follies of Indian News Television. He has taken a bold step of adopting new ideas and thoughts, setting aside the fear of failure.

Zee News is the only channel which has taken the cause of social responsibility during the much-talked Delhi Rape incident which shook the entire nation. Sudhir in an exclusive interview with the lone survivor and friend of Delhi Gang Rape victim created a new paradigm for Indian News journalism. The interview was appreciated not only in India but received accolades from across the Globe, and since then Zee News has adopted a new philosophy of “Soch Badlo Desh Badlo” – constructive nation building through thought provocation.
