Panaji: A prisoner serving a sentence for robbery cases in Goa allegedly attacked a medical officer inside Aguada Central Jail, police said on Wednesday.
Fernandes attacked the medical officer yesterday when he was brought for a routine checkup, police said.
The incident took place at the out patient department of the jail dispensary inside the prison, located 15 kms away from the state capital.
Calangute police have registered an offence against Fernandes.
