PM Narendra Modi meets 25-member youth delegation from J&K

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met a 25-member youth delegation in the national capital from the Gujjar and Bakkarwal communities of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to reports, Major Ajeet Kumar Mehta is leading the delegation, which is on a tour to Delhi and Agra. The team known as “Sair-e-Watan” is a part of ‘Operation Sadbhavna’ of the Indian Army.

Addressing the delegation, PM said, “I understand the developmental needs and aspirations of the Gujjar-Bakkarwal youths.”

“The Government would spare no effort to ensure that your (Gujjar-Bakkarwal youth) demands are met,” PM further said while interacting with them.

PM further appreciated the spirit of the J&K youths adding that the Gujjar-Bakkarwal youth would get their due share in the progress and development of the nation.

Reportedly, the Kashmiri youths shared their experiences and the difficulties that their community members had to face due to lack of basic infrastructure and employment opportunities, while interaction with the PM.

The Prime Minister shared his own experiences of Lok-Sampark (public contact) in the districts of Poonch and Rajouri, reports said.
