Aizawl: Mizoram police arrested seven youths, including four minors, for gang-raping a minor girl, police said here on Tuesday.
"The accused youths gang raped a 14-year-old girl at Leite village (in Lunglei district) in southern Mizoram Sunday night," a police official said.
He said the victim had eloped with her lover, who was accompanied by his seven friends.=
"When the girl's friend returned home to get his wallet which he had forgotten while leaving his house in a hurry, his friends gang raped the girl," the official added.
The boy later informed the police who arrested the youths Monday.
The victim has been admitted to a hospital.
Of the arrested youths, four are aged 14-16 years while the remaining are in the age group of 19 to 21 years.
