Heat wave back in Rajasthan, Kota hottest at 41.9

Jaipur: Heat wave conditions on Sunday revived in parts of Rajasthan as Kota and Chittorgarh were the hottest places where the maximum temperature was recorded at 41.9 degree Celsius, a met report said here.

Mercury was on an upward trend in most places by one to four degree C due to dry weather conditions in north-west of the state, the report said.

However, some parts of the state received moderate rains in the last 24 hours with Mahwa recording maximum rainfall of 4 cm, followed by Baswa 3 cm, Aligarh 2 cm.

Barmer recorded a maximum temperature of 41.5 degree C followed by Churu 41.3 deg C, Bikaner 41.2 deg C, Jaipur 40.5 deg C, and Jodhpur 39.8 deg C.

Monsoon which arrived in the state on July 3 was inactive and is likely to revive in the next 48 hours in the state, a MeT forecast said.
