Hundreds missing after landslide in Afghanistan

Kabul: A police chief says 250 people are missing after a landslide buried a village in northeastern Afghanistan.

Faziluddin Hayar, the police chief in Badakshan province, says hundreds of homes near a mountain in the Hobo Barik village were hit by the landslide at about 1 p.m. Friday.

Hayar says seven people have been rescued, and crews are searching for more survivors.
