Daman: Indian Coast Guard (ICG) helicopter 'Chetak', on its way to flood-hit Valsad, could not take off here on Tuesday, after its left wheel collapsed, while it was taxiing on the runway.

No one was, however, injured in the incident, officials said.

"One of the wheels of our Chetak helicopter collapsed before it could take off, however, no one was injured in the incident. It was a technical fault," ICG DIG AK Pokriyal said.

The incident occurred when pilot and co-pilot had taken out the helicopter from the hangar and were taxiing it, officials said.

The main rotor blade of the helicopter was damaged in the incident after it got tilted, they added.

The helicopter was going for a flood relief operation which is being carried out in Valsad district of Gujarat, the ICG spokesman said.
