Varanasi: Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah on Wednesday inaugurated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Parliamentary office in the temple town.
Parliamentary office of the Prime Minister, who is also a Member of Parliament from this temple town was opened in 'Ram-Bhavan' in Ravindrapuri area of the city.
Addressing the BJP supporters, Shah said the office will work as a bridge between Varanasi and the prime minister.
The BJP president assured the people that PM Modi is serious about the development of the holy city and has already held a meeting with various officials.
"I am aware of the plans Modi-ji has for Kashi but I will neither announce them here nor discuss them. All I can say is that after five years, the visitors coming here will see Varanasi with awe and admiration," Shah said while recalling the developmental work done by Modi in Maninagar in Gujarat from where he was a BJP legislator for long.
The 5,000-square-feet office in Ravindrapuri is being touted as a 'mini PMO' by locals who are excited that they would now get to petition the PM directly through this office, and hopefully will get their problems sorted out.
An office bearer of the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) Shiv Charan Pathak has been entrusted with the task of running the hi-tech office.
