Lucknow: One more person was arrested on Wednesday in connection with alleged abduction, gang-rape and religious conversion of a 20-year-old girl in Meerut district, a senior police officer said here.
"One Sanaullah was arrested today from near Sohrab Gate bus stand in Meerut" in connection with the case, Uttar Pradesh IGP (Law and Order) Amrendra Sengar said.
With this, all the seven persons named in the case had been arrested, he said.
Yesterday, the SSP Meerut had announced a cash reward of Rs 5,000 on Sanaullah, the IGP said, adding investigations were on in the case.
