Four TN fishermen injured in Lankan navy `attack`

Four fishermen from Tamil Nadu were injured when Sri Lankan naval personnel allegedly attacked a group which was fishing off Katchathivu island last night.

CPI-M today said attacks by Sri Lankan Navy on Tamil Nadu fishermen had ``continued unabated`` becoming a ``daily occurrence`` despite protests and asked the Centre to prevail upon Colombo to rein in the island`s Navy.

Sri Lanka on Wednesday described as false allegations of persistent attacks by its Navy on Tamil Nadu fishermen and said these were aimed at driving a wedge between the two countries and their navies.
