State-run BHEL plans to invest up to Rs 2,000 crore for setting up solar equipment manufacturing facility having a capacity of 600 MW.

"The company is planning to put up an investment worth Rs 2,000 crore in this (solar power) segment for manufacturing of silicon wafer, solar cell and solar module," a source in the know said.
